Ulzzang Korean

Uljjang, also spelled as Ulzzang (Korean pronunciation: [ʌl.tɕ͈äŋ]), is a popular South Koreanterm literally meaning "best face" or "good-looking". A slang term often used by netizens, contests competing for the title of uljjang imitated from the word, Kawaii. Direct translation for the meaning Ulzzang is; Ul-: (prefix) A slang for "face" or "Based on face". Its derived from the Korean word "Uhl-Gool" "얼굴" And Zzang-: (suffix) a slang that means "best" or "the best at/in" Unlike the term "Ul-" the term "Zzang" can be used as a noun that simply means "the best".  Many uljjangs have entered the Korean entertainment business and some have risen to stardom. The practice originated in South Korea and is mainly found in Korea, China and Japan, but can also be found in Taiwan, the United States, Canada, and Europe.
